Spur of the moment we decided to hike to the top of Multnomah Falls! Elsi did amazingly well, despite dad's failure to recommend better hiking shoes! The hike is 1-1/4 miles up a very steep path, with an observation deck at the top. Needless to say we didn't pass many 7 year-olds on that 2-1.2 mile jaunt! The photos of the two of us were taken at the tip-top of the falls, as was the bottom-right photo of Elsi. There were many cool things to check out along the way, like a giant maple leaf (dad thinks it's a vine maple?), a mini-cave, and a giant old-growth hollow tree stump. Such a great kid. So wishful for her future...
